Hackmatack 2023 Awards Ceremony in Charlottetown
The Hackmatack Children's Choice Book Awards ceremony will be held at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre (Dominion Building, 97 Queen St.) on Friday, June 2, 2023. This venue is fully accessible, with barrier-free entrances and washroom facilities. In the morning from 10:00am to 11:30am, we will offer two English Hackmatack author presentations. (Equivalent French presentations will take place off-site.) After a 30-minute break for lunch at 11:30 am, the awards ceremony will begin at noon. The ceremony will take place in the same venue as the morning program, with book sales and signings available after the ceremony. We are excited to be bringing EIGHT nominated authors to Charlottetown for this event! This engaging day of literary programming is FREE for registered Hackmatack clubs. Please fill out this form by April 15 to RSVP and secure your spot!

Students can participate in several ways: representing and introducing nominated books on stage, handing out programs, announcing winners, etc. Our event works best with lots of student participation! Check out videos from past ceremonies on our YouTube channel to see how students can be involved.
If any members of your group require ASL interpretation, a low-sensory room available during the day's events, or other have any other accessibility requirements or requests, please describe here.
